“Sixty seconds. That’s how long we’re required to stand on our metal circles before the sound of a gong releases us. Step off before the minute is up, and the land mines blow your legs off. Sixty seconds to take in the ring of tributes all equal-distant from The Cornucopia, a giant golden horn shaped like a cone with a curved tail, the mouth of which is a least twenty feet high, spilling over with the things that will give us life here in the arena. Food, containers of water, weapons, medicine, garments, fire starters. Strewn across the Cornucopia are other supplies, their value decreasing the farther they are from the horn.”

WELL..PFFT..CANT REALLY THINK OF ANYTHING EXCEPT YAAY
i’m totally for the whole Katniss/Peeta thing, but I think if it wasn’t Josh Hutcherson playing him, there’d be a lot more love for Gale going around. I’m pretty sure that’s why I love Peeta so much anyway? Poor Liam Hemsworth, forsaken because you’re up against Josh. oh well.

I BLAME THE CAPITOL
I am such an emotional wreck when i read the hunger games. Sometimes I can’t breathe for excitement and most of the time I just break down into tears. I cry left right and centre to be honest. I cry when Katniss thanks the District 11 tributes families: “Thank you for your children” - that’s so beautiful. I cry when the grandmother tilts her head up and smiles, I cry when Rue’s sister looks at Katniss, telling her she’s forgotten to thank her. I cry in The Hunger Games when Rue dies (obviously) and when she sings to her, and when she wreaths her in flowers. I cry when she’s wandering about, ready to take on anyone who comes near her because she’s so cut up about Rue’s death. I cry when she shouts out Peeta’s name in the tree, I cry when he says “Well don’t step on me” when she finds him. I cry when they have their first real kiss in the cave and when she drugs him to save his life, when Peeta tells her that he woke up to find her lying in a “very scary pool of blood”, i cry when they’re lying on the Cornucopia, waiting for the end. I cry when Peeta throws his knife away and Katniss has her bow pointing at him, when he rips off his bandage to kill himself, when she sticks it back on, when she pulls out the berries and when they greet each other on the stage. I could go on. There’s loads in Mockingjay too, but even I can’t be bothered with myself. I’m a wreck. Oh well. I love it.
I was completely set that I’d hate it, purely because I normally don’t listen to Taylor Swift. But I was dead wrong. I think I love it so much because I can see this playing as Katniss goes to get Peeta’s medicine at the feast. I’ve listened to it 5 times in a row…it’s a perfect fit to the story line.
OK, OFF TO LISTEN TO IT MORE…AND MORE…AND MORE…
